Giulio Scialpi, a pizza maker from the restaurant-pizzeria Barsento in Noci is the new pizza world champion. The 23rd World Pizza Championship, the biggest international event that saw the participation of more than 600 competitors took place at the Pala Cassa di Fiere in Parma on Wednesday April 9, 2014. Scialpi won with his ‘pizza contadina’ made with stracciatella cheese, sautéed eggplant, caciocavallo cheese, breadcrumbs with anchovies and burrata cheese.
