frecciarossoPresident of Cantine Due Palme Angelo Maci has promoted along with the daily La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno the campaign for the restoration of the “Freccia Rossa” train through the marketing of a wine with a label decidedly provocative.
“We no longer want to passively accept the abuse that block development,” Maci says.
Part of the proceeds of “Freccia Rosso” wine will be used to create a fund to rent a train for a month to prove that there is a Puglia that wants to be compensated after major rail routes have been eliminated. The goal is to reach one million euros, which is the amount needed to rent for a certain time a train that will serve as a connection of Puglia with the rest of Italy.
“We will send the first bottle to Montezemolo and Moretti, who signed the death of the transport system in Puglia” Maci says.
The wine with its label wants to bring a very important political message.
“The region has be the forefront of this initiative, involving the large-scale retail trade that can become a driving force of this initiative that will let us collect €1 million. We have done our part and we will continue to talk about the need for development of Puglia, the need to be connected with the rest of Italy and Europe,” president of Due Palme Winery says.
