Il Diavoletto Epicureo was a pleasant surprise. Diavoletto Epicureo is a small but elegant restaurant. The atmosphere is soft but familiar. The restaurant is small – I counted 6 tables – but modern and classy. I enjoyed the traditional Apulian cuisine in a modern style. This high quality cuisine reveals all the passion of the young chef Michele. For anyone who can’t decide what to choose the ‘tasting menu’ (40 €) is highly recommend: 4 samples of appetizers, two first courses, a second course and different dessert tastings. I recommend the strascinati with stracciatella cheese, capocollo and cherry tomatoes. Their homemade breads with olives, rosemary and tomatoes are delicious. They should be served with Apulian oil. The area of the BAT (Barletta-Andria-Trani province ) is famous for its excellent ‘green gold’. I also loved small gnocchi with clams, spinach and lemon. Another suggestion is about wine: a wider selection of Apulian wines is recommended. The tender coppa (air-cured pork meat) in red craft beer and spicy potatoes was delicious too. At this restaurant you get good value for your money. The restaurant is located in an hidden alley so the walk in the beautiful streets of the old town of Trani is a must.
