According to data released by the regional agency Pugliapromozione in the first six months of 2014, Puglia has registered 1,176 thousand tourist arrivals, +1 percent than the same period last year.
The best result comes from the foreign market, which continues to grow at a rapid pace in all the territories of the region, and it marks a nice +7% compared to the same period last year, with a peak in April that coincides with the Easter period and the long weekend in May. The growth of foreigners (+17,000 arrivals over the previous year) allows a positive balance of incoming, offsetting the decline of Italian tourists, however, relatively low (-8,000).
