Tourism in Puglia has had a flying start in 2014: the first four months of the year recorded in fact an overall increase in arrivals of about 3 percent, as reported by the Regional Observatory on Tourism.
Great performance especially of foreigners, with arrivals up 10 percent compared to the same period last year.
“It’s a great achievement. Data confirm the growing trend developing in Puglia in the last decade,” regional councillor Silvia Godelli says.
General manager of Pugliapromozione Giancarlo Piccirillo is satisfied. “This is excellent data and because they are sent directly from 80 percent of accommodation facilities of the region through the online system for the detection of tourism Spot (Apulia System for the Tourism Observatory) , introduced in 2013”, he says.
