The Toritto almonds grow in the same city in the province of Bari, on the Alta Murgia hill. Some native cultivars are named from former Toritto citizens, such as ‘Antonio De Vito’, ‘Genco’ and Filippo Cea’.
Toritto almonds can be eaten plain or toasted. They can be used pastries, cakes and to produce almond milk. However this variety is not suitable for sugared almonds making.
