It is a particular local ecotype of pea (Pisum sativum L.) whose origin is in the territory of Zollino.
Its cultivation has spread in the neighboring areas, within the province of Lecce.
The plants are characterized by a development of the stem (no more than 25-30 cm) and numerous pods of medium size, containing seeds used exclusively dry.
